Picnic Shelter + Rentals
mcKenzie Picnic Shelter
There are 2 picnic shelters at Olsen Park. The picnic shelter located in the center of Olsen Park – Near the concession building and adjacent to the volleyball court – Is not available for rental through the City of Wilmington, but can be used on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The McKenzie Picnic Shelter by the Miracle Field and Kiwanis Miracle Playground is available for rental through ACCESS of Wilmington.

Rate: No cost but a donation is greatly appreciated.
The rental rate is gratefully appreciated, as it is a donation to support the mission of ACCESS of Wilmington! Once your reservation is confirmed you may pay via check made payable to ACCESS of Wilmington mailed to 2021 Corporate Drive, Suite B, Wilmington, NC 28405 or visit www.accessilm.org to donate securely online. Please list Picnic Shelter Reservation in the memo.
Additional Information
You will receive email confirmation of your reservation from ACCESS of Wilmington. We do recommend arriving early to set-up or posting a sign on the day of your event to let others know that you will be using the McKenzie Picnic Shelter.
You are permitted to have a charcoal grill per City of Wilmington rules and regulations. ACCESS of Wilmington permits the use of a charcoal grill as long as the grill is not left unattended at any time, and the the grill and all charcoal is removed from the premise following your event.
Please leave the area as it was found, removing all decoration, putting trash in the container, wiping down tables, etc.
All City of Wilmington Park Rules must be followed. Violation will result in a $100 penalty: Chapter 7 of Wilmington Code.
The Miracle Field of Wilmington
The Miracle Field of Wilmington, including the McKenzie Picnic Shelter and Family Restrooms located in the Kyle Anderson Field House, is available for rental for community organizations and corporate events!
Addition Information
A certificate of liability insurance listing ACCESS of Wilmington operators of the Miracle Field of Wilmington as an additional insured party is required.

City of Wilmington Park Rules
Reservation Request Form
Park Hours: Sunrise to Sunset, except for approved City event.
Alcoholic beverages are not prohibited.
Charcoal grills are allowed only in facilities provided – do not leave unattended.
Fire pits, fireworks and firecrackers are not allowed.
Park in designated areas only – please keep off grass.
No loud music, noises or profanity.
Dispose of all trash in the trash receptacles.
Tents and inflatables (bounce houses) are prohibited unless approved by City.
No motorized vehicles including, automobiles, 4-wheelers or motorbikes.
No bathing, swimming or wading in lakes, ponds or water features.
Leash and pickup after pets.
Animals are not allowed on athletic fields, tennis courts, play areas, or in water features with the exception of service animals.
No sleeping or camping overnight.
No lying or sleeping on park benches, tables or play areas.
Firearms are prohibited except as permitted under N.C.G.S. 14-415.11
NOTE:
SPRING SEASON …
On Saturdays from February 24th to May 4th the Shelter will not be available until 4 PM due to the Miracle League of Wilmington’s Spring Season Games.
fall season …
On Saturdays from September 12th to October 31st the Shelter will not be available until 4 PM due to the Miracle League of Wilmington’s Fall Season Games.
