Swim with Stingrays

Led by Lou Krieger, an Army Vietnam Veteran, Rays of Hope is a program held at Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It offers Veterans a chance to de-stress and reconnect with nature in a way they might not have expected… by swimming with stingrays!

Veterans will have the opporuntity to interact and swim with stingrays, snorkel, and finish the morning at a Veteran Cafe in Myrtle Beach. The swim will be led by a diver from Ripley's Aquarium. 

Bring a swim suit, towel, flip flops! All diving snorkeling equipment will be provided!

The stingrays’ barbs have been removed ensuring a safe and positive experience for all participants. Aquarium staff provide educational information about the different ray species and answer any questions Veterans may have. Veterans are even welcome to return for multiple swims.
